A New York man reportedly faked his own kidnapping to avoid his girlfriend for two weeks as per the New York Post.
Rahmell Pettway, 36 wanted desperately to get away from his girlfriend.
His planning skills we lacking when he was found by the police, bound and duct taped – the roll of duct tape was still hanging onto his arm.
One source on the scene commented: “He’s a total moron,”
They added: “It was a pathetic attempt to pull the wool [over] her eyes.”
Neighbors in the area were shocked to learn someone would go to such lengths to avoid their partner.
The story Pettway fed to the police painted a story of abduction by men in a blue fan on the morning of Feb. 19 near Bainbridge Street and Reid Avenue. At the time he was questioned, police were suspicious, Pettway kept changing the details of the story.
This is not the first time Pettway has had a run-in with the law. The New York Post explains notes he has a history of approximately 14 arrests, including charges for marijuana possession, robbery, and assault.
