When Elton’s owner saw him hunch behind another male dog, he decided the dog was homosexual.

He then proceeded to take the ‘gay’ pit bull to the group Jackson TN Euthanasia where he was left presumably to die as per reports from The Global Post on Jan. 31.

The Facebook page for Jackson TN Euthanasia posted a picture of the ‘gay’ dog Elton with the following status update:

“His owner says he’s gay! He hunched another male dog so his owner threw him away bc he refuses to have a ‘gay’ dog!”

The shelter worker added:

“I can’t understand it,”

“You know those dogs get on top of each other sometimes.”

Facebook members were outraged such a claim was made about the pit bull dog. Elton’s owner literally dumped him and took off.

Countless calls came into the Jackson group center requesting to adopt the dog. Ultimately, Elton’s new owner is Stephanie Fryns, a veterinary tech from Jackson, Tenn.

ABC provides a bit of an explanation on the ‘gay behavior’ Elton displayed:

“Homosexual behavior has been recorded in more than 1,000 different animal species, but it is  likely that Elton was simply displaying typical dominance behavior when mounting another male dog, rather than being gay.”
